Serbia deposited its instrument of accession with the Depositary on 24 March 2020 and officially acceded to the Convention on 24 June 2020 in line with Article 12, paragraph 4, of the Convention, which stipulates that “(…) The accession shall become effective three months after deposit of that instrument.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the notification was shared with Contracting States on 15 July only.
Serbia is the 21st Contracting State to join the Convention. It will be represented in the Standing Committee by the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals (DMDM). The country profile of Serbia on the Convention's web site is in the process of being updated.
